World-wide the number of dead and infected from the Coronavirus appears to have reached a peak. But fears persist that large numbers could still die because of the impossibility of knowing before the symptoms develop that someone is carrying the virus.

Last year, a mass, non-sectarian protest movement in Lebanon arose over the burdens of crippling taxes, a lack of services, high unemployment, and government corruption. The daily protests and street blockades forced the resignation of the prime minister, Saad Hariri.

The Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) vehemently condemns and rejects the action and decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to deregister the SPN and other seventy-three political parties, allegedly for failing to win elective posts or obtain 25% of any election in 2019 elections. This action of the INEC is undemocratic and represents an assault on the rights of working people for political representation.
