Members of the Independent Socialist Group joining the nationwide Rise Up for Gaza protests in Worcester, MA and Cambridge, MA (August 9 & 10, 2025)
ISG was at the Worcester MA and Cambridge MA protests this past weekend to stand against the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. We call for mass protests to end the genocide and blockade, and for union workers to organize strikes and walkouts to stop weapons shipments. Working people also need a workers’ party that can oppose the Democratic and Republican parties, which have both funded and backed Israel’s genocide.

Upwards of 200 in Gaza have died from starvation, including over 96 children, and many Palestinians seeking food at orchestrated “aid sites” have been injured or killed by the Israeli military. Netanyahu is now announcing plans for a military takeover of Gaza.
There is growing mass outrage against the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people. While protests have been heavily cracked down on and repressed worldwide, they are reigniting. Last week, 300,000 in Australia marched to protest Israel’s war on Palestinians. And in Israel, tens of thousands have attended the largest protests in months to call on Netanyahu to not expand Israel’s aggression on Gaza and to release the hostages and stop the war.
Working people and unions can organize mass protests, walkouts, and strikes to oppose the genocide and to stop weapons shipments. The international anti-war movement should also build political independence and cut ties to corporate political parties that fund and support the ongoing genocide. We need a workers’ party in the US that can stand against both war-mongering corporate political parties, Democratic and Republican, and that can organize the movement to end the genocide and build active solidarity for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and a Palestinian state.
