The Independent Socialist Group is initiating protests scheduled for January 20th, Inauguration Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day, in Portland, ME and Worcester, MA.
We are looking for other groups who are willing to work together as co-organizers to try and build for the largest possible demonstrations to oppose the Trump administration. If you or your organization are interested in working together, please contact us! We propose the following initial slogans:
- Stop Trump and his Agenda!
- Fight the Right!
- End the Genocide in Palestine: for an Arms Embargo Now!
- We Need a Political Party for the Working Class!
The working class, if it gets organized through unions, community groups, and other working-class organizations, has the power to resist and defend workers, immigrants, and others from attacks by the capitalist class and right-wing. The working class also has the ability to fight for and win gains regardless of which corporate party is in office. Mass protests and worker actions are the best way forward, and if a strong enough resistance is organized at the start of the new Trump administration, we can defeat the right-wing agenda and build momentum to go on the offensive.
